JOINING K&O CHILDCARE
When you join the nursery the first week of attendance is for our settling in process, which enables us to bond with your child and help them feel safe and secure.
Our settling in process is carried out over 4 days however we may sometimes request to extend this should we feel your child requires a longer settle.
1st Day
1 hour settle with you
This gives us time for you to meet your child’s key worker and for them to talk and gather information on your child’s likes, dislikes and any routines they may have.
2nd Day
1 hour settle with you
We ask you to come in and settle your child down for 30 minutes whilst you are in the room, and then to let them know you will be back soon and leave for 30 minutes. (If your child does become too distressed we will call you to return and discuss extending the settling in process).
3rd Day
2 hours settling without you
We ask you to settle your child in and leave for two hours. (if your child does become to distressed we will call you to return and discuss extending the settling in process).
4th Day
½ day settling in
During this time, they will stay for nap time if they are in our younger rooms which helps us see how they are at nap time.
